Reader Top Ten Greatest Horror Movies 1960 - 2000: Sean McCormack

Reader and friend Sean McCormack is next up with his list of top ten horror films released 1960 - 2000.

Sean writes:

10. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 (1986)

09. The Silence of the Lambs (1991)

08. The Fly (1986)

07. Jaws (1975)

06. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

05. Night of the Living Dead (1968)

04. Alien (1979)

03. Psycho (1960)

02. Halloween (1978)

01. The Exorcist (1973)."

Sean: Your list is great, and I am very pleased to see TCM 2 made your cut.  I love that film, and recently ha the honor of writing about it for the upcoming Arrow UK DVD booklet. It's a really good sequel that a lot of people dismiss because the tone is different from the original's.

I also can't quibble with your number one choice, The Exorcist.  It was high on my list today, and is one of the few films (along with Halloween) that I never watch when I'm alone in the house!

Also, I'm terribly embarrassed not to have included Jaws (1975) on my list.  How did I forget such a great movie?

Readers: don't forget to send me your lists at Muirbusiness@yahoo.com

  1. Jaws, an excellent choice. I was a boy and remember the summer of '75. It kept many people out of the ocean, ponds and swimming pools!
